Total Community Benefit Reaches $185 Million in 2024
Cedar Park Regional Medical Center provided care to thousands of area residents in 2024, with more than 245,000 patient encounters across its network of physician clinics and other outpatient sites of care. In addition to delivering safe, quality, compassionate healthcare, the health system is helping those in need, supporting charitable organizations, and contributing to the area economy. In its most recent Community Benefit Report, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center’s impact totaled an estimated $185 million in 2024.
Throughout the year, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center made strategic investments to enhance access to care and improve patient outcomes. The hospital completed capital investments totaling $2.7 million, which included new nephrectomy equipment and expanded robotic-assisted surgery capabilities.
“Our work to grow and enhance the medical services we provide is ongoing, as we continuously improve our safety and quality and support access to healthcare for our community,” said Sean Tinney, Chief Executive Officer of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. “From providing care to our most vulnerable residents to supporting local charitable organizations, we are proud to make an impact on the health, well-being, and quality of life in Cedar Park and beyond.”
Cedar Park Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Rooms provide lifesaving, medically necessary care at more than 32,000 patient encounters each year, treating all patients regardless of their ability to pay. In 2024, the hospital provided more than $86 million in charity and uncompensated care and provided resources to help patients in need secure medications and medical support devices.
The health system and its employees also support local organizations that make a difference, especially those addressing social determinants of health. Through service projects such as the annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive for Reveal Resource Center and Hill Country Community Ministries and contributions to organizations like the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC), Cedar Park Regional Medical Center gives back to the community throughout the year.
The hospital also took steps to strengthen its orthopedics, surgery, and cardiology services. Hill Country Orthopedics added a podiatrist in house, and added in-office X-ray services. The surgery department surpassed 8,000 robotic-assisted procedures and introduced cTIF procedures, a minimally invasive treatment to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease. Our Annual Women & Heart event was a resounding success, drawing over 220 attendees for an afternoon focused on heart health awareness. Access has been further enhanced with the opening of a new primary care clinic on Bell Boulevard in February, expanding to 16 clinics throughout Williamson County with 21 primary care providers.
“We are strategically applying our resources to help area residents have access to the care they need close to home,” said Tinney. “These investments, along with our outstanding medical staff and employees, support our delivery of quality medical care and services for a positive patient experience.
Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is one of the community’s larger employers, with a payroll of approximately $76 million. Support for the future healthcare workforce includes training the next generation of medical professionals through nursing rotations and high school medical training programs. In 2024, 191 nursing students completed clinical rotations, 59 high school students earned Medical Tech certifications, and 20 teens participated in the summer volunteer program.
In addition to supporting the local economy through job creation, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center paid more than $8.7 million in taxes in 2024, contributing to local infrastructure and civic resources.
