5/12/2015
May 12, 2015— Cedar Park Regional Medical Center (CPRMC) will celebrate the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for its Heart and Vascular Center on May 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The 6,000 square foot facility will have a designated driveway and entrance on the west side of the hospital and feature two Cardiac Cath Labs and western Williamson County’s first Cardiac Rehabilitation program to meet the needs of the community.
According to Brad Holland, CPRMC’s CEO, “Our cardiovascular services have grown dramatically in the past two years and we have expanded to increase our capacity and the scope of our services. The two Interventional Labs will be available for lifesaving cardiology, vascular and radiology procedures. In the Cardiac Rehabilitation Suite, we will help individuals who are recovering after a heart attack to strengthen their cardiac status and help prevent future heart attacks. Pulmonary Rehabilitation will also be offered in this area to improve patients’ breathing capability.”
According to the American Heart Association, when a patient is having a heart attack, “time is muscle”. The following symptoms may indicate a heart attack:
-
Chest discomfort
- Discomfort in other areas including the arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach
- Shortness of breath
- Other signs including cold sweat, nausea or light headedness
When an individual experiences these symptoms, the fastest way to receive lifesaving treatment is by calling 9-1-1.
